Finishing touch process

To keep your wood tools still look good, need good finishing touch and must be adapted with wood type. Wood with good fiber must use finishing touch by presenting fiber method, while wood without fiber need finishing touch by closing over surface of wood method. Now you can use mixture from politur and wood stain to presenting wood fiber.

Step 1:

Tool and material required are :

- Wood stain

- Politur

- Chromatic putty

- Paintbrush

- Sand paper No.180 and 240

- Dust cloth

- Putty knife

Step 2:

To smoothing wood, eliminating dirt, emery all surface of wood by sand paper no.180. do this step clockwise with wood fiber to avoid broken fiber.

Step 3:

After emery process finish, it’s pores have to fill with wood putty (chromatic putty as per wood color). To add putty in flat surface can use putty knife. Smearing putty until flatten, at the same time pressed to be stepping into wood pores.

Step 4:

To smearing putty at wood with profile/ not flat, wood putty must thinned before use with thinner. Use ratio 1 : 2 for thinner and wood putty. Smearing wood putty by painting brush , and then rag with dust cloth to be stepping into wood pores.

Step 5:

Please wait around 2 hours after step 4 finish in order to putty correctness run dry. After that, emery putty with sand paper no.240. The function of this step is to showing again wood fiber which at first closed with putty

Step 6:

To make wood color more sharpness, need mixture from politur. Mix politur and wood stain with ratio 1 : 10 and then stir until flatten. Brushing to all surface of wood. Brushing process of this mixture have to be one way, in order not to seen its paintbrush fibre.

Step 7:

Before wood stain dry, rag with dust cloth to smooth down that mixture color.

Step 8:

The last step is close all surface with politur by paintbrush.
